With solar panels, the capacity is expressed in Watt peak (Wp). Watt peak is the maximum power that a PV system can generate under ideal conditions. Unfortunately, these conditions are not always available in the Netherlands, which is why the power of a PV system is corrected by a factor of 0.88. A PV system with a capacity of 2000 Wp will produce approximately 1760 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of usable electricity in the Netherlands. The roof angle and location of the roof in relation to the sun has a major influence on the final yield. A 36-degree south-facing roof slope is optimal in the Netherlands.
